Stories In The Making

"During Covid-19 isolation, posting to my hero diary saves me from looming mental darkness."

JD, 41, Queens, NY, USA

"Restrictions on traveling, shopping and simply hanging with friends and family midst the pandemic has resulted in unheard-of ME TIME. Losing my job limits the options to amuse myself when not searching for other work. Exercise helps but does little for mental stimulation. To fill this need, I've been posting to a diary. This is the first activity I've ever attempted which demands 100% of mental capacity. I totally lose myself in it. Now, I'm writing about the experience(s). #SoItBegins #NormalWorld #setting

“We're expecting our first grandchild any day now. When we first learned of the pregnancy, we started a diary capturing our perspective as impending grandparents. Our intentions are to make it an activity we can perform with her until she's old enough to post for herself. It will be our special activity together.”

“I've kept hand written diaries for decades since grade school. MHdiaries not only motivated me to dig them all out, but offered badly needed direction to turn portions into an interesting read - a record of my life long after I'm gone, written in my own words.”

“My generation has witnessed two economic crises, the Covid pandemic, the need for industries to pivot to survive, as well as, the looming threat of climate change. MHdiaries.com inspired me to capture a first hand historical account through my eyes. What a setting for the diaries I'm keeping!”

“I took on the task of tracing our family tree. Being from a large family, it has turned into a formidable undertaking because 'mystery' has emerged as a family trait. In an attempt to break this pattern and set a new trend, I laid down the law with my seven siblings and issued an ultimatum. It read: 'Unless the only reference you wish of your life in the our family genealogy to be birth and death announcements, I suggest you visit MHdiaries.com.'”

KM, 19, Leamington, On, CAN

"Posting daily in my hero diaries has not only altered the thoughtfulness going into setting goals but also the passion and urgency in which I pursue them. As time passed, lack of progress on any also left a trail. This raised the concern  'How's that going to read?'"

HS, 27, Portland, ME, USA

“The best form of therapy, from the most unlikely place ... MY BED!  I recount the day's events before I drift off and post inspirations when I wake up.”

AL, 21, Haiku, HI, USA

"As a creative writing instructor, I frequently recommend to students to keep a diary. In conversations with one of my most promising protégés, she made reference to the Elements Of Storytelling in MHdiaries. She uses your checklists when composing her writing assignments."

"I find myself less self-absorbed and more empathetic to what others are experiencing."

“A close friend recently asked if I enrolled in some self-improvement or motivational course. She noticed uncharacteristic levels of confidence and happiness and that I no longer put things off."

TC, 26, Vancouver, BC, CAN

”Ever since I introduced my fifteen year old to MHdiaries, I observed a change in her when her friends came over. Compared to her classmates, she is less preoccupied with social media and is thinking more about her future and forming a path in her life.”
